This handmade bolo tie is a beautiful representation of traditional Native American jewelry.
In this bolo, the kokopelli is inlaid with Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and coral.
Explanation of Symbols:
The Kokopelli is a deity symbol with five functions: fertility, prosperity, happiness, joy and healing.
The half-moon circles along the border represent clouds: abundance. The small, straight lines along the inside of the clouds are rain symbols, which mean renewal and fertility.
The Staircase of Life is also featured. It's a step-like symbol in the corners of the bolo. This symbolizes the steps we take in life, and with each one we learn and overcome obstacles that come in life.
Sleeping Beauty Turquoise comes from a mine near Globe, Arizona. The color is solid, light blue and has no matrix. The mine is one of the largest in North America, and is relatively abundant.
