Blue Gem Turquoise: This mine was located near Battle Mountain, Nevada, within a copper mining operations. The Blue Gem mine produced almost every shade of green and blue turquoise, and features a hard, irregularly distributed matrix.
The Battle Mountain Blue Gem mine yielded the most valuable turquoise because of its rich color and hardness. The mine is now closed, and its turquoise is highly sought after by collectors.
