Donate to the Rodeo Historical Society
The Rodeo Historical Society (RHS) is an organization under the auspices of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum® in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. RHS members from around the world share an interest in preserving the history of rodeo. Membership and donations support the rodeo programs of the Museum, including research, an ongoing oral history project, acquisition of collection materials for the American Rodeo Gallery and the prestigious Rodeo Hall of Fame.
The Rodeo Hall of Fame enjoys a prominent and important place in the renowned National Cowboy Museum. Since, 1955, cowboys and cowgirls have been inducted in the Rodeo Hall of Fame, a tribute to rodeo’s greatest legends who paved the way for today’s rodeo champions. Visitors enjoy the inductees’ personal stories through interactive kiosks in the American Rodeo Gallery, a display that educates visitors from around the world on the history of the sport.
RHS memberships and donations enable the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum to:
Collect and professionally archive photographs and artifacts that preserve the sport’s history, Document the history of the sport through interviews and oral histories (available online and to researchers), Conduct the annual Rodeo Weekend festivities, including the Rodeo Hall of Fame inductions, and update and improve the American Rodeo Gallery with new technology and displays.
Gifts of any amount can be made to the RHS in the form of memorials or honorariums and will be listed in The Ketchpen, biannual magazine. For details, contact the RHS Coordinator at (405) 478-2250, Ext. 216.
