The Paintings of Tucker Smith: A Celebration of Nature

The Paintings of Tucker Smith: A Celebration of Nature

By Tucker Smith and John A. Murray

More than 100 full-color reproductions. Some studies and sketches included (in black & white).
Inspired by the beauty of nature, Tucker Smith is a master at depicting wildlife and habitat in balanced and subtle compositions. Smith spends time in the backcountry of his beloved Wind River Mountains, in Wyoming, observing nature and gathering subjects. He believes that in nature "one discovers there is color everywhere, including the apparent voids of light trailin off of wildlife or mountains. Good painters are capable of recognizing the difference. I grew up working on ranches , in proximity to the mountains and wildlife, so it was natural to paint vast landscapes of this region."
